New programme of courses taught in English,validated by University of Wales

In 2010, the program «International Management» at Alfred Nobel University, Dnipropetrovs’k was validated  by one of the most prestigious and respected universities in the UK - University of Wales , whose experts confirmed that our university  offers a high quality of education .


The program «International Management» is designed to be a three year course taught at Alfred Nobel University, Dnipropetrovs’k  and conducted as a parallel study under the speciality «International Economics» from the second to the fourth years of undergraduate study. Training in all disciplines of the program from its first to its final year is conducted entirely in English.
After completing their studies under this program, students will obtain two diplomas - a British BA (Hons) «International Management» (University of Wales), which is recognized throughout the world, and the Ukrainian state diploma.

Collaboration between Alfred Nobel University and the University of Wales

Alfred Nobel University is actively involved in various international projects to enhance the level of education offered and to better serve people of Dnipropetrovs`k region and Ukraine as a whole.

In 2009, Alfred Nobel University started collaboration with the University of Wales and went through validation procedure to implement a new educational program in «International Management».

In 2010, Alfred Nobel University carried out the first enrollment to the program.  During their first year of study, students followed the curricular of «International Economics» as the pre-training stage for the program in «International Management» validated by the University of Wales.

In 2011, Alfred Nobel University and the University of Wales enrolled the students, who successfully passed the pre-training curricular, to the program in «International Management». 

In 2012, Alfred Nobel University continues enrollment of students to the program.  The program in «International Management» has gained good reputation and attracts students from many countries and many regions of Ukraine.

Overview

A new program in «International Management» offered at Alfred Nobel University was validated by the University of Wales, United Kingdom, in 2010.  After four years of successful completion of the program, a student will receive two degrees: a Bachelor's degree in «International Economics» from Alfred Nobel University, Ukraine, AND a Bachelor's degree in «International Management» from the University of Wales, United Kingdom.

The Bachelor's degree in «International Economics» is licensed by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and is up to all requirements for state-granted degrees in Ukraine.  The Bachelor's degree in «International Management» is validated by the University of Wales, UK, and is highly recognized internationally.

Teaching in the program is conducted entirely in English.  Hence, the program is attracted to both Ukrainian and international students.  Students have possibility to study within multicultural environment and to improve their English proficiency.  The program will provide a good basis for further study abroad and for an international career.

The program is taught by highly qualified professors and lecturers of Alfred Nobel University.  Teaching staff for this program has been carefully selected and approved by the University of Wales, U.K.  Many professors and lecturers have experience of studying at American and European Universities.

Entry requirements

Program in «International Economics» and «International Management» is open to applicant with wide range of interests and skills.  This program will be well suited for people with interest in careers with international companies and organizations, for people with good analytical and English skills, for people who would like to continue their education abroad in the future.

The set of application documents that have to be submitted is different for foreign and Ukrainian students.

Documents required for admission for Ukrainian citizens:

•  State-certified documents showing the level of education previously acquired by an applicant (educational qualifications), completed with appendices for grades in classes studied;
•  Medical certificate, form 086-O;
•  Six color photographs size 3 cm by 4 cm;
•  Copy of Ukrainian passport;
•  Certificate from the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (for applicants applying on the basis of completed secondary education), which shows the scores achieved in the following fields of study:
                   - Ukrainian Language and Literature,
                   - Mathematics,
                   - Foreign Language or Geography.

Documents required for admission for foreign citizens (according to Decree No. 1238 dated from 5 August 1998):

•  Completed personal information/application form;
•  Copy of education certificate of the applicant with the transcript of grades for subjects studied;
•  Copy of the applicant’s  birth certificate;
•  Six photos 60 by 40 millimeters in size;
•  Medical certificate describing the applicant’s state of health certified by an official health protection body of the country from where the foreigner has arrived (the certificate to be received not earlier than two months prior to the departure for studies in Ukraine);
•  Document certifying the absence of AIDS-infection unless alternative arrangements are permitted by international agreements of Ukraine;
•  Health insurance policy (except for foreigners arriving from  countries that have agreements with Ukraine regarding providing free medical help to their citizens);
•  Return ticket with a one-year open date for return to the country of origin.

Foreign applicants are admitted to the program according to results of an interview.

Program Structure

Program is taught over four-year period.  Classes taught from year one to year four will constitute the basis for a Bachelor's degree in «International Economics» awarded by Alfred Nobel University, Ukraine.  Classes taught from year two to year four will be counted towards a Bachelor's degree in «International Management» granted by the University of Wales, United Kingdom.

First year of study

Classes during the first year are only counted towards a degree in «International Economics».  First year of study provides an opportunity for students to learn basics of economics and to improve their English skills.

Courses in economics:  Introduction to economics, Regional Economy  

Courses in mathematics:  Mathematics for economists

Courses in humanities: History of Ukraine, History of Ukrainian culture, Introduction to psychology, Philosophy, Sociology

Courses in foreign languages:  Advanced classes for English

Second year of study
Courses in economics:
  Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, History of economics and economic thought, Economy of foreign countries, Euro integration, Economics of enterprise, Human resources management

Courses in mathematics with application to economics:  Probability theory and statistics for economists, Practical statistics, Optimization methods and models, Information systems and technologies in international economy

Courses in business skills:  Language model of contemporary business communication, Practice in conducting international business negotiations, International public relations, Electronic commerce, Etiquette and basics of international protocol

Third year of study
Courses in economics:
  International economics, International trade, Marketing, Management, Accounting, Managerial accounting, International markets for productive resources, Labor economics and social relations, Money and credit, Finance

Courses in quantitative skills:  Econometrics, Mathematical methods and models in international economy

Courses in applied skills:  Standardization and certification, Communications management, International transportation, Logistics

Fourth year of study
Courses in this year study various aspects of conducting business internationally.

Courses in finance:  Financial management, Corporate Finance, International finance, International equity market, Accounting in foreign countries, International investment activities, International audit, International accounting, Payment and credit relations in the foreign economic activities of enterprises, Financial systems of foreign countries, Insurance of foreign economic activities

Courses in business practice:  International marketing, International business, Foreign economic activities of enterprises

Courses in institutional aspects:  International economic law, International organizations, Customs and customs regulation, International economic analysis
